Youth Fitness Classes at Bridgemill Athletic Club
YOUTH FITNESS
Fun for kids. Easy for parents. We’ll keep your kids moving in a fun-filled, friendly, and safe environment. Classes are offered by age group, options include elementary fitness, hip hop/ballet dance, middle school fitness, karate and more.
ELMENTARY FITNESS: Grades K-5
This is a fun age-appropriate fitness program filled with heart happy games, obstacle courses, bodyweight exercises and appropriate nutritional information.
Monday-Thursday 3:30-4:15pm Class Limit (12)
MIDDLE SCHOOL FITNESS: Grades 6-8
Monday & Wednesday 4:45-5:30pm Class Limit (6)
This is a small group introductory program designed to educate and prepare our tweens for future independent training. Classes are held in the main Cardio/Weight Room. Participants will learn respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, body awareness and self-confidence. They will also gain muscle, strength, endurance, speed, agility and flexibility.
TWEENS AND TEENS: Parents do you want to work out with your kids? Youth ages 11 and up are welcome to join you in a group fitness class or workout in the fitness center under your supervision.
TEENS: Teens age 15 and up are welcome to join a group fitness class or workout in the fitness center during regular business hours 6am-10pm.
BALLET/HIP-HOP: Wednesdays 4:30- 5:15pm (ages 5-8)

Dancers will learn all the basic ballet positions and steps as well as fun hip hop moves. This program helps dancers with self-confidence, problem-solving skills, mental flexibility, creativity,
physical dexterity, coordination and teamwork skills.
There will be three choreographed dance recitals performed throughout the year.
Participants should bring ballet and tennis shoes, wear comfortable clothing and hair tied back. For safety purposes no in class viewing. Please bring a water bottle. No-shows will be billed.
KIDS MARTIAL ARTS:
Monday 5:30-6:15pm Kids 4 and up

YOUTH EVENTS
FITNESS NITE OUT: Ages 5-11 $25 per child Class Limit (15)
Kid’s fitness nites out are a great night out for the kids and an opportunity for parents to get out too. These fitness nites out include games like dodgeball, relay races, tag, obstacle courses and other fun fitness activities with Ms. Holly. Healthy snacks and plenty of age-appropriate fitness and nutrition information are passed along.
MEET OUR YOUTH FITNESS DIRECTOR:

Holly received her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Bloomsbury University. After teaching in the public school system for a few years, her passion for health and fitness led her to pursue a career in fitness. Holly received her fitness and nutrition certification from Penn Foster Career School and has been personal training and teaching group exercise classes for ten years. She has since been led to follow her fitness passion as the Kid’s Fitness Director and offers classes for both elementary and middle school aged children. She is CPR and AED certified through the American Heart Association.
MEET OUR KID FIT DANCE INSTRUCTOR:
Sarah Van Zanten
With 28 years of dance experience under her belt, Sarah Van Zanten began training at the age of 2 at Georgia Academy of Dance and the Performing Arts under direction of Sherri Davis. Sarah trained there for 16 years, and was a member of their company, Georgia Dance Theater, for 5 years where she received instruction in ballet, pointe, jazz, modern, and hip-hop. While there, Sarah received instruction from renowned artists and choreographers from around the world.
Sarah attended college at Georgia Tech where she studied International Affairs and was involved in Dance Tech and Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority. While in her sorority, Sarah was Alpha Gamma Delta’s Dance Chair for Mock Rock and Greek Sing competitions where her choreography won them 1st place 2 years in a row. Since college, Sarah began furthering her dance education at North Georgia School of Ballet studying ballet, pointe, jazz, and hip-hop since 2016. In 2019, Sarah began teaching ballet, jazz, and hip-hop at North Georgia School of ballet to all ages. She has choreographed and set pieces for many full-length ballets which include: The Nutcracker, The Little Mermaid, and Coppelia. Sarah lives in Bridgemill with her husband, Michael, and their two-year-old son, Barrett.
